Biography

John O’Neill recently retired from a successful 30+ year career in high technology sales and sales management at Fortune 100 companies, including Xerox, IBM, and EMC Corporation. Entering his 21st season in the Big Ten Conference (37th overall) and 17th as Crew Chief, John has received 21 post season assignments, including the Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Fiesta, and Rose Bowls, in addition to the 2014 BCS National Championship and two Big Ten Championship games. He also served as the Big Ten Football Officials Association President for two years. In addition to his on-field role, John is Co-coordinator of football officials for the Midwest Football Officials Alliance (MFOA), a consortium consisting of one Division II and five Division III conferences, reporting to Bill Carollo. John and his wife Peg celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary this October, and they have raised four children. He and his family reside in suburban Chicago.
